Akhbar Puteh is a Corporate Communications and CSR professional with 27 years of experience. At UMW Corporation, he headed the CSR unit, managing UMW Group’s CSR initiatives, including the UMW Volunteerism Programme and large-scale tree-planting projects, while excelling in stakeholder engagement, government relations, and media relations. He was a key committee member in UMW’s major rebranding exercise in 2008 and played a critical role in managing high-profile events attended by Malaysia’s Prime Minister and senior government officials, including the launch of overseas plants in China and India. His extensive experience also spans investor relations, event management, and public affairs. Akhbar holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from UiTM and is a certified HRD Corp Trainer. With a strong track record in strategic communication, he excels in building partnerships and driving impactful corporate initiatives.

He is an accredited member of the Institute of Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM) and a member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). Additionally, Abdul Latiff has obtained the Accredited Trainer certification with the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRDC) of Malaysia. He is also deeply committed to fostering ethical and professional communication practitioners through part-time lecturing and industry speaking engagements.
