Talking about the importance of strategic communication functions and how they contribute to the bottom line of an organization to non-communication practitioners can be intimidating and scary. I was given the opportunity to conduct a program on this topic with a group of CBP Bank executives from various departments recently and I’m happy to report that the outcome is nothing less than satisfying. The engagement level was high, and everyone participated in the discussions and activities wholeheartedly.
Key outcomes from the program include the importance of ensuring strategic planning on projects must be specific and clear either in its strategies or KPIs, key messages require structuring and precision, the need to use storytelling techniques creatively and professionally and crisis management requires effective SOPs, adequate training and exposure. At the individual level, having a strong personality, the right attitude, and the ability to listen effectively are some of the prerequisites to advance one’s career in any organization.
